Most positions are available during the actual run of the event, however, please note that some positions may offer pre/post hours. In addition, the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival will extend activities at Sand Harbor with Midsummer Nights , a week of additional events from Aug 25th to Aug 31st. 2008 seasonal "House" Positions
Sound Board OperatorsThe Sound board operators will be responsible for the operation of mixing consoles, processors and audio systems for all productions for the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. This position will also assist in the installation and maintenance of the Sand Harbor stage sound equipment and intercom systems. This position reports to the Technical Director.Must have an interest in audio systems and sound reinforcements, be able to follow technical instructions, work as part of a team and have the ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Previous experience with live sound systems is a plus. ElectricianThe electrician is responsible for the realization and maintenance of the lighting design for all productions of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. This person will report to the Technical Director. Duties include oversight of the build of any elements using practicals in the production, work with the technical director to schedule the load in, hang and focus of lighting elements, supervise the installation of all lighting equipment, ensuring that it is installed in a safe manner, supervise all focus calls, ensuring that all work is performed in a safe manner, attend all cue writing sessions, tech/dress rehearsals and notes meetings. Must be responsible for adjusting the focus, hang or placement of lighting elements as discussed with the lighting designer. In addition, this position will work with the light board operator to complete a dimmer check and fix any problems before each tech/dress rehearsal. make a daily written report that is immediately delivered to the stage manager which details the events of the day and expectations of issues that will be dealt with before or during the next scheduled call and work with the technical director to schedule the strike of the show and the return of all lighting equipment to storage.
CarpenterThe Carpenter position shall be responsible for the general building and installation of scenery for the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. The position is available May 12th – June 20th and reports to the Technical Director. Duties include: Constructing scenery under the supervision of the technical director and shop foreman, assisting in loading and unloading building materials from delivery trucks and assisting with the loading and unloading of scenery from shop to trucks to stage. Must be able to read and build from technical drawings, utilize problem solving skills to aid the construction of the set, communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors, operate all types of woodworking equipment to include: table saw, radial arm saw, drills, pneumatics, etc, respond in an expeditious and timely manner to all work requests regarding carpentry expertise. Must have knowledge of basic stage practices and operations and have the ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Scene PainterThe Scene Painter will be responsible for painting set elements under the supervision of the scenic designer and technical director for the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. This position is available May 12th – June 20th and reports to the Technical Director. Duties include painting and texturing of scenic drops, set pieces, props, and flooring.This person will work closely with the scene designer and technical director to develop textures and looks for the stage. Must be able to follow technical instructions, utilize sculpting and modeling techniques, utilize problem solving skills to aid the painting of the set and props, assist with the loading and unloading of scenery from shop to trucks to stage and touch up painting after the load in at the stage in Sand Harbor.Must have previous experience in drawing and painting and an interest in fine arts and painting. Knowledge of basic stage practices and operations is required as well as the ability to work more than 8 feet above the ground. Telephone Sales AgentsAll members of the ticket sales crew will work varied hours in the main office based upon business. These individuals must be willing to work in a fast paced environment during business hours. The main function of the sales crew will be taking phone ticket orders through an online ticketing system. Familiarity with data input, attention to detail and organizational skills are vital to this position. These individuals will display ultimate customer service skills. These positions begin in mid June and run through the end of the Festival season, August 26th. The sales office is open 8am - 6pm seven days a week. Full and part time positions available. Assistant Volunteer CoordinatorAssistant Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for assisting LTSF Volunteer Coordinator (VC) on busy evenings (including Saturday evenings), and will fill in for VC on their day off. This position will oversee volunteer operations for the evenings assigned, including supervising of volunteers, oversight of admission procedures, and assisting in venue closing. Assistant Volunteer Coordinator will report to the Executive Director, and may be assigned other duties as needed. House Manager-Part time-2 nights/weekOne of the Festival's key positions, this person must be available to work throughout the LTSF Festival and through the extended week of events following Shakespeare if possible, from 5:00pm - closing nightly. The House Manager is responsible for crowd control within the amphitheatre, supervision of amphitheatre assistants and volunteers, security in and around the amphitheatre and general maintenance. Be willing to have a lot of fun but work hard. Dependability is a must. Assistant House CoordinatorThese individuals will assist House Manager with the duties associated with preparing the venue for patrons to arrive, seating of guests, general customer service and simple housekeeping duties. This is a very interactive position with our guests. Dependability and ability to work comfortably with the public is a must. VIP Check In & HostThese individuals will work at the entrance to the Reserved & VIP Check In to assist guests in seating, act as their host for the night, catering to any special requests or needs. These individuals will display the ultimate in customer service skills, have the ability to think and act "on their feet" and remain calm in a fast paced working environment. Professionalism is a must Box Office Sales Box Office Agents must be willing to work in a fast paced environment during the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival from 4:30pm - 8pm on evenings assigned. This individual(s) must have ability to work in fast-paced and hectic atmosphere during our most busy times of the year. They must have a calm, friendly and professional demeanor at all times and be able to respond to questions or customer problems in an informative and constructive manner. Familiarity with data input, attention to detail and organizational skills are vital to this position. This individual(s) will need to possess a superior ability in customer service skills. |
