Sugaray  - Blues and Soul

July 16 & August 9

Buy Tickets

A thousand grown men, singing at the top of their voices, trying to express all the pain ever felt in a soulful blues song - won't even remotely come close to measuring up to the size, strength and brilliance of Sugaray's powerful voice!

This magnetic performer is the consummate blues soul singer. He’s as diesel as John Lee Hooker and unapologetically will have you panting over his painfully sweet, soulful melodies. Sideman, Chuck Kavooras, is a beast on guitar; chomping his way through some of the most complex blues riffs you’ll ever hear. Chuck is also a well-known music producer who recently produced the Plain White T’s – a platinum selling group that’s quickly moving up the charts in the United States.

Last year, Sugaray raised the temperature in Incline Village by almost 10 degrees with his riveting performance in Sand Harbor.

Café R & B - Presenting the First Lady of L.A. Blues!

July 26

As Hit Magazine proclaims, “Imagine Etta James riding a Harley out of an active volcano, and you'll have some vague inkling as to the vocal power of Roach” – lead vocalist of the dynamic blues group - CAFÉ R&B.  With her bleach blonde hair, sassy stage persona and tremendous vocal attack– Roach has become the “Soul Sister Aphrodite” of the R&B/Blues scene in Los Angeles.

Right hand man and husband, Byl Carruthers, lays down the pocket with devilish guitar grooves - setting the stage for his Queen Bee Diva to blow her audience away. Byl has written and composed television shows for Oprah – so he’s no stranger to working with such tremendous female personalities.

Simply put, the audience will not be able to keep their eyes off of Roach.  She commands not only your attention, but as well, the attention of her own band members as they synchronize with her voluptuous vocal ability and musical talent. If you love Tina Turner in her absolute prime, then Roach - along with Café R&B – will blow you away on July 26th!

Mrs. Robinson - Hits from the 60's & 70's

July 30

Buy Tickets

If there is one deep-spirited communal bond that our LTSF audience members have in common; it is that most of us all grew up listening to the infectious grooves of the classic Rock/ Pop and Soul era of the 60’s and 70's! Mrs. Robinson is recognized globally as one of the most famous international classic cover bands; dazzling audiences with nostalgic anthems that have been a part of our platinum musical collection for the last four decades!

Dressed in theatrical garb, Mrs. Robinson performs and emulates to perfection the persona of each band they cover.  Whether it is the classic rock of the Rolling Stones, Heart and the Beatles, or the legendary soul music of Stevie Wonder and James Brown, Mrs. Robinson is fashionably on point with their musical delivery. The look and sound is that of the original artists themselves; reflecting in music and dance every nuance of Joe Cocker's gritty moves to Diana Ross' disco panache.

Members of the group have recorded and toured with: Cher, Edgar Winter, Carole King, Billy Bob Thornton, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Michael Sombello, Chuck Berry, B.B. King and Survivor; just to name a few. They have also been seen and heard TV shows such as: Friends, Full House, Becker, and Trading Spaces.

Paul Thorn - Southern Rock

August 2

Buy Tickets

Paul's Thorn's music is the soulful embodiment of the Mississippi heartland encompassing Country, Gospel, Rhythm and Blues, and Rock & Roll! Born in Mississippi, in the same music drenched region that gave us Elvis, Paul grew up shaking his leg and tambourine while singing in his father’s revivals.

Thorn's musical persona is a genuine Southern paradox, a bona fide tough guy with compassion for the social fugitive. Behind his music simmers an old fashioned spiritual sensibility.  His music is filled with demented optimism and his blazing country grooves will make even Chuck Berry want to join the musical fray.

Paul Thorn's live performances are equally blistering. A hardcore veteran of the road, Thorn has opened for some of the most established acts touring today including Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck, Sting, John Hiatt, Robert Cray, Marianne Faithful and John Prine. His tours are heavy and hectic, spanning over 200 dates a year in the United States and Canada.

The Old Dixie South will never sound so amazing until Paul Thorn comes into town. His funky voice is as soulful, brazen, and melancholy as the legendary Bocefus himself!  Come listen to the southern soul wisdom of Paul Thorn as he rocks the musical pulpit with a bottle of Jim Beam and a six string guitar on August 2nd!

Royal Crown Revue - Gangster Swing

August 6

Buy Tickets

Close your eyes and think of what it would sound like if Frank Sinatra met Al Capone in a rockabilly nightclub over a Scotch and Seven.

Mixing 40's swing infused jazz and pumping it up gangsta' style, Royal Crown Revue has you feeling as if you were the Fonz!  How's that for being straight cool!  Did I forget to mention the zoot suites and the fact that these cats are unbelievable live performers?

If the Godfather could boogie and play a stand up bass, he'd be jamming to Royal Crown Revue.  Lead vocalist, Eddie Nichols, dances and prances all over the stage with his Brooklyn vogue persona rocking the house. His voice is a smooth as a buttery cocktail and the band will swing you all over the dance floor.

If you love great live music and the Corleon family, then I'm sure we'll be seeing you all jazzed up on August 6th, 2010.

Karen Briggs - Legendary Yanni Violinist

August 16

Buy Tickets

We are extremely excited to bring back violinist, Karen Briggs!  Last year, her performance raised our audience to their feet for a 10-minute long standing ovation.

Briggs has a natural ability to improvise in various styles of music, such as symphonic orchestra, Latin orquesta, R&B, gospel, jazz ensemble and even rap. Additional exposure to genres of Caribbean, Afro Latin, Pop and Middle Eastern musical idioms has allowed her to evolutionize her identifiable style.

She is most noted for her live performance with contemporary instrumental keyboard composer, Yanni (you may recognize her memorable musical duel with that of Yanni's composer in the multi-platinum selling concert video, Live at the Acropolis).

However accomplished and outstanding her musical resume may be, Karen Briggs is definitely not through yet.  She continues her musical journey with her "Soul Orchestra" here in Lake Tahoe on August 16th, 2010.
